Adobe encore could not import

Its telling you your file is not ready as it is. Programs like tmpgenc can reencode it to your proper spec. Once you get it into your proper dvd resolution you should be able to proceed as normal. Try gspot or avicodec on the file to see what the current resolution of the video is then you'll know what you need to convert it from.
