In reply to A. Bought a C with v2 on the back. This device has been in the constant freezing mode, very frustrating. Since I was not able to follow the steps to update v2 firmware. I updated on v1. It went fine. It can play some mp3 songs now. However, freeze is still a pretty annoying problem though less frequent. I never imagine an eletronic device can be that shaky. Should have read the forum before I buy.

Sigh, the price of buying cheap! HGST Support. C version2 Latest Firmware Installation Instructions; Version 2 Players Only First, be sure to verify that your player is a cv2. Once this has been verified, go ahead and proceed with the firmware update steps below.

Check if the firmware is udpated. Is there a list I can look at to see what this firmware fixes or improves? It should have said v2, I updated it. Is there any hope for this mp3 player. What can we do?

The rechargeable battery, which is user-replaceable, is rated for an unexceptional but acceptable 15 hours; CNET Labs tests beat that rating by about an hour. The Good The SanDisk Sansa c series player is an exceptional value, considering its assortment of features. It comes with a FM radio, a voice recorder, photo viewer, a built-in MicroSD slot for adding memory, and even a user-replaceable, rechargeable battery. Navigating menus is a breeze. The menu interface is boring and screen quality subpar.

Sound quality is far from impressive; there's no video support. The player uses a proprietary USB port. And, there's no 4GB version. Thanks to its exceptional value and user-friendly features, the SanDisk Sansa c is an acceptable choice for youngsters and first-timers--but more sophisticated users would be better off shelling out a bit more for a better player.
