TawfikKh, it has been a while, and your problem has probably already been solved one way or another. But for people having the specific problem of stale entries for deleted files showing up despite re-indexing, consider that you might have a corrupted disk. To diagnose and fix the corrupted disk: 1. Go to My Computer. When prompted that you don't need to scan the drive, tell it to scan the drive anyways.

If it is your C: drive, you may need to reboot so the scan can run. Reboot the computer again. This should fix the problem. I would also suggest you to run the System update readiness command. It detects incorrect manifests, cabinets or registry data, it may replace the incorrect data with corrected version available.

I fixed the 0 indexed problem before, but now I cant remember how I did it or which or the numerous troubleshooting processes was the one to actually fix the problem. The problem returned when i had to restore my data from an old backup - thus undoing any of my previous fixes.

However, this means that my problem MUST be related to my specific user profile as it is the only thing that was changed. Again, my profile resides on a separate drive and it is this drive that needed to be recovered - nothing else. This should help us to track down the problem. Since this could be due to user profile corruption as well, I would request you to create a new user account and check.
